Begonia Sinuata (Sparkling Begonia / Maple Leaf Begonia)

INTRODUCTION:

Commonly known as The Sparkling Begonia / Maple Leaf Begonia, these are basically found surrounding South East Asia Regions where they are considered native endemic begonia.

Often sighted on highland areas often found along waterfall areas or slopes, vertical rocks and hills where they form in clumps - like colony plants also growing together with moss and other climbing plants.

You may considered this type, as one of the most common wild begonia - I would rather say that these are very difficult to cultivate as ornament begonias due their need for high humidity and may not able to survive in lowland climate zone.

However, cultivation is not impossible given the right conditions.

CHARACTERISTICS:

These appear to be like a singular leaf begonia and I had observed that a new leaf formation appears to form at the center of the leaf. I'm pretty sure this is considered one of the unique types where most likely it would had been well researched and studied botanically.

Also it does give out flowers - very much like a pink / white tiny inflorescence - similar like most Rex Begonia flowers in appearance.
