Begonia Sizemoreae

CHARACTERISTICS:

Begonia sizemoreae is a rhizomatous species native to North Vietnam was named after its discoverer, plant explorer Mary Sizemore. This multi colored oval shaped leaves featured species begonia has a Begonia Rex type of features, also has the highlight where it is covered with fine hairy features on the foliage surface.

This particular one highly sensitive and may require to be grown or cultivated in a terrarium or greenhouse setting where it may requires high humidity with controlled water - too much water may cause rot and low humidity may cause burns.

I also understand that this particular one can withstand various different garden conditions especially if the begonia had acclimated. The best ideal conditions for this plant growth would be where it receives bright indirect light during the day and cool temperature drop during the night which can be challenging for constant weather conditions in hot &  rainy wet tropical regions like my garden.

Just like most sensitive begonia types - this one is a slow growing begonia and may fast succumb to rot if proper care is not given, hence I wouldn't recommend this begonia for new beginners.

This is the unique characteristics of this Begonia Sizemoreae - the furry hair like features like an old man's hair.
