Begonia U402 - Part 3

CHARACTERISTICS:

Just some addition from Part 1 & Part 2 from the earlier Post.

Here I want to emphasize from the pictures where from this one singular plant where the whole begonia can appear to be very bushy and well defined as a shrub rather than Cane Begonia structure.

Also on certain condition - the foliage can appear to have a hairy surface when grown under special conditions. I had tried to grow these in a terrarium with some success and had found that the hairy surface appears to be very prominent when grown inside a terrarium. However due to some need and care this begonia is short lived in that condition.

There are indeed some information stating that these are an unidentified begonia from Venezuela via Japan but not much information to truly verify this information - one of that factor is that these are so commonly available in my region especially here in Malaysia surrounding the South East Asia - which may somehow give a tell-tale sign that of a mis-identity concerning the origin. 

This happens when a begonia as such as this is a vigorous growing plant and a small cutting can actually grow very well and over the years may able to adapt and grow in many different conditions and such in appearance where it is indeed a hardy begonia plant.

There are some details where it was mentioned that it does have some resembles with Begonia ulmifolia, the elm-leaf begonia where it is a native begonia from the South America region surrounding Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, the Guianas, and eastern Brazil, Mauritius, Réunion, and the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean.

Also it is known that Begonia  Venezuela U402 do form flowers or inflorescent appearing in small clustered in pink coloration when the cultivated in temperate region. However the begonia appears to be growing very strongly upright without much support when grown in these cold temperate region.
