Cane Begonias - Update 2015

Compared to the leafy siblings
I find that Cane Begonias are much hardier and easier to care for.
Some have glorious flowers apart from the exotic spotted features.
The only difference I find as a plus point is
their success rate of propagating them is higher.

Once they get establish and start to grow.
They are indeed a beauty to behold.

Random Colours in the Garden

It would definitely out the context to give a specific detail concerning one singular species.
Especially when it comes to Vertical Gardening.
As these are very much appear to be like a community plants,
staying and coping together in harmony.

The colours indeed makes a great difference in the blending.
These Jacob's Coat somehow have a nice patches that fits well in my concept.

The sun was shining brightly filtering through the leaves giving a lovely contrast.
One thing for sure.
I'm actually running out of words to describe all these beauties.
This time - I let the pictures do the talking.

Vertical Gardening - Plants

I realized that it is the in thing to have a vertical garden concept.
More of a contemporary and practical where space is a big issue.
I often hear that many people say that they do not have space for gardening.
That their once a garden spot is all tiled up and had become a car porch.

I would say:
If you really want to have a garden - you would just find a way.
And that is the reality of the truth.
But if you decide to get a vertical garden anyway.
Do choose your garden plants properly for not all do well as a vertical plant.

I had selected foliage plants with varieties of dots, streaks, stripes and colours.
Some dusted, lined, split and veined.
You would not find one leaf similar to another.

Here in my collection:

1) Cane Begonia
2) Dumb cane varieties.

Persian Shield was looking good for sometime but it started to rot and finally gave way.
I really missed those maroon track looking leaves.
I doubt I would get it again, as I find it not hardy as I had expected.

Cane & Rhizome Begonia

The recent renovation had caused a major set-back for most of begonias.
Some died and some are recuperating - all of them had already shed their flowers.
I had lost all of my Rex Begonias,
they didn't manage to survive during that stressful period.
The Iron Cross Begonia is barely making it.

Somehow I found that apart from all these turmoil.
These Cane Begonias together with Martin Mystery manage to handle the ordeal.
I was worried I would had totally lost the species as they are a rare find.
