  1. Yes I can! Can you grow the cousins of this race, the Plectranthus? The flowers are very much the same

  5. The Answer is Coleus.
I was trimming off all the flowers before the plant matures and thought how pretty this flower looked.
Wanted to know if any gardeners trims the flower.
    You all have guessed correctly.

  6. I didn't realise that the flowers could be as big as yours! Yes, I trim the flowers also. I was told that this slows down maturing process. And as you know, it does. Happy gardening coleus!

  7. James, I use my fingers and thumb to deadhead them, no need for scissors. I think the seeds are hidden in these flowers.

  8. Stephanie -the big flowers are due to species, some types are big and again, fertilisers do make the difference.

Belle - I was tempted to pinch all these flowers but realise that scissors can do a clean job. And yes, there are hidden seeds inside but I need to dry the flowers first in order for the seeds to ripe.
With so many coleus around, I prefer cuttings are better to propagated compared to seeds - satisfaction guaranteed.
