Star Begonia / B. heracleifolia var. pyramidalis hort. (Ribbed Longitudinally Petioles)

NTRODUCTION:

This particular Begonia heracleifolia is known for the large Mexican rhizomatous species. Firstly identified in 1830 in few Begonia Societies and hence many varieties and hybrids been discovered and created - however they all are generally labelled as a Star Begonia with a general Begonia heracleifolia species name.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The Main Characteristics here I want to emphasise is more of the Glossy Green Foliage which is slightly more grander in appearance than Begonia heracleifolia Cham. & Schltdl. as that one has more yellow tones.

The other main strong characteristics is the furry strong ribbed appearance on the leaf petioles - unlike most Star Begonia, this characteristic is very unique.
