Huernia schneideriana Flower Blooms

Compared to so many types of this kind which I had purchased and cultivated, this was the only one I had great success and blooms many times in my hands. So much so - it is a common sight to behold.

The flowers are bell-star shaped and without strong smell - unlike other species which is often carry the unpleasant odor of a dead rotting animal - I'm glad I don't have to face or smell those unfortunate blooms. I believe the flies seemed to be the pollinators for this particular type of plants.

These flowers blooms constantly when I use the orchid foliar fertilizer on the stem. The beauty is that they are so generous in their flowers which I had found that they don't really require any particular season or particular months to bloom.

The best test whether the fertilizer works would be the test subject on these plants.

These blooms last for few days but never seen them setting into seeds nor have I noticed any pollinator on them and therefore I really not sure if they would bear fruit in my garden conditions as they are not native in my region.

Regardless the set-back, I truly find this particular one is hardy and able to handle well in my garden condition. When I got this particular plant - I got only one tiny stem in few inches. Now they had self-propagated and almost filled every generous part in my garden.

Also the do so well in my kokedama balls - hanging well together with other cascading plants like rhipsalis and dischidia species. I truly wish to get my hands more on their many different varieties to add more colors and texture in my garden.

Do share your experience and thoughts if you cultivate this particular one in you garden.
