Garden - May 2012

This is my continuation of the make-over of my garden. I'm still working around this area and still figuring out what is the best arrangement I can possibly make to make this space neat & beautiful.
And some occasions some of the plants are giving out the best in their blooms - Black Flamingo & Walking Stick Iris.

Above all - its still a lot of maintenance to consider when a plant overgrows or a pruning is required.
Never thought that its going to be a finished job - rather its very much like a constant ongoing work.
And the total standing and watching and looking and admiring takes a more time in decision making.
(in what stays and what gets moved)

All these pictures were taken using a camera phone - so please excuse me for the not-so-good quality.
Planning to take few macro shots of my orchids (if only I can get some new rechargeable batteries soon)

Hi James! Looking good! I love your fern. It looks almost like the fern growing in my garden!

Looks like a lot of hard work; selection, repotting and re-arranging. For this very reason, I try to keep container gardening to a minimum, limited to those that do not require frequent re-potting. Images are relatively good for camera phone.

Hello James, that plant in the first pic next those 'birds' looks like my Billbergia pyramidalis. I love how you stack those foliage plants together. Very attractive! Have a great weekend!!

My garden makeover seems to be a never-ending daily affair, hence I do agree with your statement, "And the total standing and watching and looking and admiring takes a more time in decision making"!

Let's say that we are painting a different picture every day.

Actually you are luckier than I am because you are living in your house and can garden everyday. If you are like me living in a condo except for some weekends when i'm in the province, you will miss that fun. And we are the same, as i utilize also those discarded cans as pots. It gives a lot of iron to plants when they are already rusty.

Like the creative ideas with the can and shelves! I think I should save some of our olive oil can.

Glad that you like it - remember to make some holes at the bottom of the cans when planting.

You got a wonderful collection, James. Reminds me of my garden of yesteryears when our plants were aplenty too. I'm smitten with the eye-catching purplish-blue foliage plant as seen in the last two images... what's its ID, please?

James David said...

Its known as Purple Queen - a tradescantia species
