Begonia - Chivalry / 'Beatrice Haddrell'

This is a new addition I recently purchased.
Something that I had fallen in love when I first lay my eyes on it.

She appears to have the Black Velvet characteristics
with the green splash addition on the foliage.
I guess I'm just magnetized with those similarities.

This is fairly new - recently purchased and so I'm really not sure how is its behavior.
As for now,
its doing just fine and giving out new growth and that is something I'm glad to contend with.

I had bought fairly a medium size pot for RM20
and managed to separate 3 portions of it and planted them separately just in case any of it dies.
I even propagated the fallen leaves but haven't seen any new growth from the propagated foliage.

Updates on 18 Nov
(It's been 2 months and I wanted to follow-up on the progress of this begonia)

Recently I had discovered another new name for this one.
Begonia 'Beatrice Haddrell'

I believe both Begonia Chivalry and 'Beatrice Haddrell' are actually the same plant.

I would consider this one the best begonia to cultivate.
The growth is very stable and strong and I would recommend this particular one for new beginners to try their hands on.

This rhizomatous begonia has asymmetric hairy foliage.
The plant grows tall and upright gracefully without any resistance.

I had spend a holidays in Cameron Highlands a few years ago and found these planted at the Hotel porch. I discovered these pictures from my old phone database and was eager to share it here. It looks so good here in highland climate setting where they are blooming profusely. It must be happy in the element there.

Here is the link where I had put together a list of all the begonias that I had come across. A database of all the different types & their characteristics. Please click on the link on the title above for the post.
