Cane Begonia 'Tiki Carmen'

INTRODUCTION:

This particular begonia is considered from a rare plant category - in a way to say it is still not easily available and had not managed to cover the supply over the demand - also in a way to say that it these are not easily available here in my region. I must say that these are very much fall in the category of late comers during the Plant Trending Season where the Begonia Maculata Wrightii took high precedence and others fall short of their glory.

Again, it's a lot got to do with the Plant Market rather than anything when it comes to availability, however it is quite strange to also note that there aren't much of information on this particular hybrid. The only thing I can say is that these are imported plants from reputable nursery but as far as plant information goes - they only seems to supply the plant only with their ID.

Verification is going to be a very challenging as your guess is as good as mine. The only thing that is going to make much of a difference is plant study based on the similar characteristics with other begonia species to make some sort of comparison to note their parentage characteristics to give some idea of their origin and plant behavior.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Based on the foliage structure, I can roughly say that it have very close resembles with "Albo Picta" species in a way if you would notice the veining that forms from the centre of the foliage where there is a main protruding vein from a central leaf petiole .

If I would ignore those dots and just vision it as just the leaf structure - it is very much similar like any other Begonia Maculata "Albo Picta" and that is one singular clue where the main parentage may have occurred - I doubt it could be from a main species due to the fact - not much information is available.

Another unique appearance are the Burgundy coloration at the back of the leaf, very much similar like Begonia Torch and other original Maculata species. Also there are a thin white perimeter lining around the foliage to give another characteristics.

I must have gotten the name wrong or would have been mislabelled haphazardly.
Or if it truly  Cane Begonia 'Tiki Carmen' - not much information is actually available to describe to detail on how this particular one is cultivated.

Another factor is that I did find few begonias with the same name but their similarities in the begonia appearance are so different - not sure whether the plant revert into something else due to different growing conditions.

I had found one source from Dublin, Ireland Facebook mentioning that this particular one is from a Begonia coccinea parentage and a native to South America. This particular Cane Begonia 'Tiki Carmen' is from that hybrid. Not sure how true is the information.

Perhaps this particular one may have been mislabelled but as far as I had researched, nothing appears to be have any similar resembles to this particular begonia.
