Synonym: Pedilanthus tithymaloides
Unlike most types where you often find some variegation colors, normally 2 tones or 3 tones. This one however had a bland common green appearance without any variegated coloration.
When in strong shade it has a dark green appearance, the leaves are more oval round shape with slight crest around the edges. The foliage however morphed into sharper lance like formation but without any changes of coloration on the foliage unlike other types when exposed to too much sunlight.
These will only flower when receive good sun and will not bloom in shaded condition.
This one is highly cultivated for floral display - rather than foliage.
Locally it is known as Birdie. Often Sunbirds or any nectar drinking birds are drawn to this species. Hence I highly recommend to cultivate this particular type of plant if you want to see a busy activity of nectar drinking birds in your garden.
