Euphorbia tithymaloides L. (green)

Synonym:  Pedilanthus tithymaloides L.

Unlike most types where you often find some variegation colors, normally 2 tones or 3 tones. This one however had a bland common green appearance without any variegated coloration.

When in strong shade it has a dark green appearance, the foliage however turns to burned like  light brown to copper when exposed to too much sunlight.

Another unique feature is the the foliage appear to have slight frills at the leaf edges making it look wavy unlike other types of this kind.

However, this one is not cultivated for floral display - rather very much for the colored foliage. Do check more detailed information of Care & Cultivation from the Main Page Link below:

The zig-zag stem appearance is less evident for this cultivar. I find that these can be tight and compact when the foliages are in place - their stem upright rather than zig-zag. The pictures below are the indication of how they look like when exposed to sunlight.

  1. I have this plant, Pedilanthus tithymaloides L. I have been it's happy guardian since 1974. sometimes it has a big zag shape. sometimes not. currently it is very bushy and dense. the plant came from somewhere in Oklahoma or Florida but lives in southern California. Eileen near San Diego.
