Begonia 'U358' / Begonia Pewterware

CHARACTERISTICS:

Similar like U400 Begonia, this one was also found by Don Miller from Malaysia. It was Begonia 'U358' but popularly known as Begonia Pewterware - a rhizome begonia which is very much has a silvery faded tones. It has a burgundy dark tones at the underleaf.

These colors are very similar like a Cane  Begonia 'Sinbad' and the foliage shape is similar of a maple leaf pattern. I have yet to find this one widely sold in any nursery and perhaps only exchanged within begonia collectors and most likely passed on like an heirloom plant.

I was told locally this particular one is known as "Pokok Asam Batu Keledek" due to the leaf shape on its foliage that looks similar like a sweet potato leaf.

Thank you Abu Hasan Zaleha for the wonderful pictures send to me for this post.
