Alocasia 'Mandalay'

CHARACTERISTICS:

To begin with it is a hybrid of Alocasia "Polly" hence the similarities are evident. However what makes this one uniquely different is the diamond shaped leaves where it appears to be more broader and the veins more pronounced in appearance.

Also the veins are in symmetry as in identical in mirror from the central foliage whereas the other may have alternate veining patterns.

I could be totally wrong and may be looking at a Alocasia Polly variants. However only time would tell as I observe and see the growth of this Alocasia as it matures.

Unlike other variants - I only find that it only produce one or two singular leaf in a tuber/corm structure where the plant appear to be short and compact.
