Nectar Drinking Birds in the Garden (The Olive-backed Sunbird)

These beautiful nectar drinking birds visit my garden on daily basis.
The Olive-backed Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis) is collecting cotton fiber for making her nest material which I used to wrap my tree dwelling plants.

These birds often come in pairs to collect nest materials, make noises and mark ownership territories in my garden. Often come to feed on the fire-cracker flower nectar and also the Costus flowers.

Do grow and cultivate the fire-cracker flower plant or Costus woodsonii also known as Indian Head Ginger to encourage these birds to visit your garden.
