Episcia Collection - Lil Lemon

I had hard time identifying this particular hybrid. I'm suspecting that it may had been cross-bred so many times that it may not have a specific identity rather than the mix parentage and somehow, it shows after some time on which cultivar is showing dominant characteristics.

As I understand, Episcia cultivars are so unstable that they do tend to revert back to their parent dominant characteristics. Here - I can easily mistaken it for a Episcia Pink Panther where the foliage  do have dark furry coloration.

However, one strong plus point I would consider all is not lost is the beauty of that one singular flower bloom which is big and showy. Not forgetting it is in Pink - something so rare that I had not seen apart from the usual red and sometimes yellow.

If you are looking for a varieties of flower colors from the Episcia collection, I would suggest to seek out Lil Lemon or Pink Panther. Both have similar characteristics and lovely pink blooms.

Unlike other episcia varieties, the foliage is hairy / furry type and therefore it needs a little more attention as not over water on their foliage but just at the pot base.

Once established, this plant can be considered hardy and a constant bloomer. I'm still not getting used to the lovely huge blooms. I truly recommend that you should try your hands on this particular hybrid if you are familiar with having episcias around in your garden.
