At first glance, It does not have any resembles of a common begonias where the leaves are in singular formation. This one has a fern like appearance. The plant behaves more like shrub and can be easily mistaken for a different plant instead of a begonia. It has a red colored stem and behaves more like a Cane Begonias but it's more like a dwarf version.
The foliage appearance turns more greener when in shade. When I purchased it, it was more on a brown coloration which I believe it was very much exposed to bright sunlight. Also it appears to be quite fragile as they can break easily. And so, do place it in a position where it is minimum disturbance by the wind or any physical contact.
Though the leaves are fragile (easily broken from the stem)
They are actually quite robust to use as leaf propagation. They seemed to root easily.
Begonia Bipinnitifida or Fern leaf Begonia is a native species of Begonia found in New Guinea it was first discovered growing in the high rocky environment of Mount Horne. Due to the unique fern like unique features where it can easily mistaken for a different species apart from being a begonia however the true give away are the flowers.
