Cleared the Messy Garden






















Finally I decided to put the Costus into a planter box spacing and just keep the big pots with Coleus as the mains. I had ditched the Angelonias as they seemed to be messy here.
Hopefully these will prove to be neat looking and beautiful for months to come.

 I just kept one good looking blue Angelonia here. My Ground Orchids are blooming gloriously this season and few of other novelties that requires to make mention. I might come to that later in more detail as I need to clean up the internal side of my garden.
(my next week garden project - that is when I find the time)

    I think the red costus and coleus add colour and coolness to your garden. New arrangement, new look!

      I love the mess if I have a huge garden space but because it is so small - I have to keep neat for they take over the walking space.

      Yes blue & red makes a beautiful combo.
      Just hope that these Angelonias stay put.
      They seemed so difficult to manage.

    I do concur with you that Angelonias are messy as they fall over the place and look unkempt despite all the staking. Your Spathoglottis inspire me to plant a bed of this later.

      I guess so.
      They are unpredictable in their blooming cycles & fall over when they get leggy.
      Spathoglottis however is something of a greater challenge where once they fail to bloom for years.

    Well I think the flower pots were neatly arranged and in order. Are these your gorgeous collections? They really look pretty and healthy. You know what, I would really love to do gardening but unfortunately I’m not one of the lucky greenthumbs. Anyway, I really enjoyed you blog. Keep it up!

      Yes - these are my collection.
      I'm a firm believer that everyone can garden.
      I would really like to encourage you to start gardening as I really don't think it require that only green thumbs can garden.
      Hope you would take up the challenge again.

    You did great, James... love the new look! My favourite is Red costus... they do stand out well in the crowd. I see you have the Costus speciosus with variegated leaves... does it grow wild and has it flowered for you? I wonder whether it can be grown in a container as I'm quite fascinated with it.

      Yes I have manage to maintain a medium size pot of Costus speciosus varigated.
      It haven't grown wild or flowered but I love those velvetly looking leaves.
      They can be grown in a container but they may not be so glorious as those grown on the ground.
