Sometimes before you know it - the flower wither under the hot sun.
Its always better to experiment and maximise to see what brings out the best result.

My opposite neighbour finds it difficult to keep few of the plants that thrive in my garden. Recently I noticed that the flowers that were planted outside my house seems to close by noon whilst those just a couple of steps away inside closes only around 4pm. Would you be able to advise on how I can get them to stay open longer? Or should I replant the whole garden from new cuttings? Thanks a bunch! :)kevinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901937196017931930.post-87596622712180826552009-10-08T09:52:32.732+08:002009-10-08T09:52:32.732+08:00Easygardener - Im a fan of coloured flowers & ...Easygardener - Im a fan of coloured flowers & foliage too. Thanks for visiting and leaving comment on my blog...I always enjoy meeting new gardeners ;) I usually include moss roses in my mixed containers but when deer visit, the plants are chewed completely down to nothing! I agree, that is a pretty coleus, love the pink heart center! Btw, your princes are adorable!
Lynnlynn'sgardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09104383899991317740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901937196017931930.post-22369058345413808052009-10-02T12:56:02.106+08:002009-10-02T12:56:02.106+08:00Steph - Waa.. even rain can cause havoc ahh??

Colours go so well together. Good combination! Enjoy your garden and have a great weekend! You have a lovely collection. I had many varieties of it but they seem to be so temporary.

Do mix them but also keep the originals in separate pots because eventually one cultivar will overpower the other and you will find that from the mix - one or two goes dormant and later missing.James Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01423981835876393119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901937196017931930.post-6417062531764360452009-10-01T22:24:31.000+08:002009-10-01T22:24:31.000+08:00James, I see that your portulaca has many fleshy a...James, I see that your portulaca has many fleshy and healthy leaves. Looks like the coleus needs more water than the portulaca. Have you tried mixing different colour or big with small portulacas in one pot?Autumn Bellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00818422090556602092noreply@blogger.com
