Wishbone Flower - Torenia Fournieri

One of the most enjoyable plants I have in my garden. They constantly bloom. The only setback is that they get infested with mealybug farmed by ants and that if you forget to water - they tend to wither and may not recover back from the former glory.

The good thing is that they resurrect back during the end of the year during the raining season and they just sprout everywhere - wherever the seeds had sprouted. And so, to say this plant had totally died from the garden - may not be true as they do come back again.

  1. What beautiful little flowers. They'd go well in a hanging pot I'm guessing???

  4. I like these cute and sweet little blooms. So far I have seen 3 colours - pink, blue and white. They make pretty flower borders with their mixed colours.

  5. Hi James,

I like the Wishbone Flowers when they spread all over the gound. They are so beautiful, especially when the various colours are grown together.

My neighbour gave me some and since then they have never cease to make an appearance in my garden.

  6. Cute little blooms, even though I prefer large blooms! I remember them growing messily after some time.

  7. Oh, I think I had all your colors last year, I really need to go check see if they reseeded themselves. I have the habit to digging around, so I am afraid that reduced the chance for them to reseed. I love their flowers!

  9. My torenia resurrected after the prolonged rain also. Funny isn't it? They really can give you a surprise. I do enjoy watching this flower popping out here and there. And I don't think they need any fertiliser at all to blossom ;-)

  13. They disappear every now and then but always come back. That is really nice. If they multiply too fast, we may not appreciate them, right?
